Okryugak, which was designated the Tangible Cultural Asset No. 7 of the Daejeon Metropolitan City, is a single story, Paljak-style roofed building with 3 room in the front and 2 on the side. Construction of the lower structure by building the floor frame after having erected pillars with different height by being supported by bedrocks of the value and rocks between the mountain stream is quite characteristic.
This structure was repaired in 1693 AD (in the 19th year of King Sookjong) and was initially constructed by Song, Jun Gil and his literary followers during the reign of the King Injo (1623∼1649 AD) for the pursuit of study. It is said that the rectangular shaped characters “Choyeonmulhoe” carved on the bedrock on the left of the building was personally written by Song, Jun Gil.
