Hoedeok Hyanggyo is equipped with Daeseongjeon where ancestral rites for numerous sages including Confucius are held and Myeongryundang, which is the lecture hall for the students. Although Dongseojae where scholastic students resided and studied were said to have been situated on the right and left side between the Myeongryundang and the Daeseongjeon, they are now lost, leaving only their foundations.

Hoedeok Hyanggyo, with its foundation constructed by piling up 2-tiered embankment on the slope of low rising hill, is constructed in the format of Jeonhakhumyo (facilities for studies at the front and burial ground at the back), in which Myeongryundang, which is the lecture room, is situated in the front and the Daeseongjeon, which is the Myodang (burial ground) space, situated at the back. As one passes through the Hongsalmun at the entrance, one will come to Soseulmun type Hoesammun, with Myeongryundang situated inside the Hoesammun and Daeseongjeon located after Naesammun as one climbs up the stone steps at the backyard of Myeongryundang.

Hoedeok Hyanggyo Daeseongjeon, which has been designated as the Cultural Asset No. 5 of Daejeon Metropolitan City, is a building with double eaves and Batbae roof, and 3 rooms in the front and 3 on the side. Wooden floor was installed on the internal floor and the ceiling is decorated with lotus lantern. Ancestral tablets of 5 greatest sages of China (Confucius, Ancius, Jeungcius, Jascius and Mencius) are placeded in the center, while those of 4 main sages of Sung Dynasty of China (Judonyi, Jeongho, Jeongyi and Juhee) and 18 sages of Korea (Seolchong, Anyoo, Kim Goeng Pil, Cho Gwang Jo, Yi Hwang, Yi Yi, Song Jun Gil, Choi Chi Won, Jung Mong Ju, Cho Heon, and Song Shi Yeol, etc) are placed on both east and west walls.

Daeseongjeon holds Seokjeonje (semi-annual services) with gathering of Hyeongwan (government officials), Jehwan (government official in charge of memorial services) and ordinary scholars of the region on designated auspicious day in February and August in lunar calendar.
