Residence of Song, Yong Eok is an ancient house which began to be occupied by Song, Byeong Ha, the second oldest grandson of Dongchundang Song, Jun Gil, when he established a separate household upon marriage. It is also the residence of Hoyeonjae Kim, a female literary scholar, who could fill up the vacancy in the history of female scholars from the 17th to the 18th century. Hoyeonjae Kim who was the daughter-in-law of Song, Byeong Ha, left behind numerous poems that contained characteristic emotions and sentiments of women. The house is compose of Anchae, large Sarangchae, small Sarangchae and Gamyo, and, as one enters the main gate, there is Sodaeheon, which is the large Sarangchae, on the left and Ohsukjae, which is the small Sarangchae, on the right. Large Daecheong (main hall) and Ondol are located in the large Sarangchae with sliding doors between the rooms. Toitmaru was placed with an elevation that is a step higher than the rest was placed on the right end of the small Sarangchae situated in front of Anchae to create quaint beauty, and Anchae could be entered and exited through the middle gate on the left of the small Sarangchae.
At the back of Anchae, there is Gamyo on a hill. This residence that appears to have expanded function of Sarangchae due to 2 Sarangchae buildings has open arrangement, thereby illustrating the residence of aristocrat living in the outlying regions.
