It is a separate building constructed by Kim, Gyeong Yeo (1597~1653 AD) during the reign of King Injo of Joseon Dynasty (who reigned during the period of 1623∼1649AD) and was reconstructed in the 26th year of the King Gojong (1889 AD). The building was named Songaedang by using his pseudonym. ‘Songae signifies the volition to maintain integrity of pine tree that does not change even under severe hardship and strong and vigorous spirit of towering cliff, illustrating the spirits and loyalty of Kim, Gyeong Yeo very well. Songaedang has 3 rooms in the front and 2 rooms on the side, with the roof in Paljak style that is characterized by the lateral side constructed in the shape of “八” . Structurally, the 2 rooms on the left are Daecheongmaru while 1 room on the right is an ondol room (floor heating system).
