The area located between 127°23′40″ and 127°30′27″ of east longitude and between 36°20′27″ and 36°28′30″ of north latitude at the northeastern part of Daejeon Metropolitan City, Daedeok-gu shares the boundary with Chung -cheongbuk Province in the Northeast,Dong-gu and Jung-gu in the south, Seo-gu and Yuseong-gu in the west. Hoedeok IC of Gyeongbu and Honam Expressways, and Gyeongbu and Honam Railways pass through Daedeok-gu, as well as the district,is the center of Daejeon's traffic network where the Daejeon Tollgate of Gyeongbu Expressway, the gateway to Daejeon, is located. It is also the center of the manufacturing industry with abundant geographical locations for development and Daejeon Industrial Complexes No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 as Mt. Gyejok, where the entire area of Daejeon could be seen, and Daecheong, Lake which the source of water for the citizens of Daejeon, are located in the district. In addition, Daed eok-gu, located at major parts old Hoedeok-hyeon, is the district equipped with rich land and great scenery overflowing, full of warm-heartedness, and also is the birthplace of Hanbat spiritua culture producing numerous scholars, loyal subjects, patriots, filial daughters and obedient daughter -in-laws as the region has served loyalty and morality from the old days.
