Gyejok Mt. Bare Foot Festival is a creative and public benefit type festival with participation of the residents of the municipality by becoming the venue to personally experience eco-healing and achieve mutual understanding and communication through walking on bare foot through the Loess Trail in the forest, cultural and arts performances/viewing of exhibitions, and experiencing of diverse range of events.
Gyejok Mt. Bare Foot Festival is a representative festival of Korea where participants can walk through the 14.5km Loess Trail in the forest on bare foot with more than 20,000 participants every year. Gyejok Mt. Bare Foot Festival is held under the concepts of ‘Man (bare foot)+Nature (Loess Trail in the forest)+Literature (book concerts)+Culture and Arts (performances and exhibitions)’, and is composed of walking through the Gyejok Mt. Loess Trail on bare foot and eco-healing culture and arts festival through which the participants can heal both the mind and body while enjoying cultural and artistic performances, experience events and literatures. Key events include “Fun Fun Classic” by the Seonyang Ecopera introduced through the Gyejok Mt. Forest Music Concert from April, Meeting with the Poet, Cho, Jeong Kwon, Silver theatrical play, Nanta, Pan Flute and Ocarina performances.
Gyejok Mt. Loess Trail was selected as a ‘venue one must visit in May’ by the Korea Tourism Services in 2009. We invite you to experience the joy of communicating with family, loved ones and friends as well as nature, and generate unforgettable memories of autumn by walking through the Loess Trail on bare foot in October during the romantic season of autumn.
