Dongchundang, which is National Treasure No. 209, is a separate building constructed by Song, Jun Gil by putting his pseudonym in naming the structure. On the northwest aspect of the Dongchundang, separate structures including Sarangchae (residence for the male head of household), Anchae (the main building of the house) and Sadnag (ancestral shrine) of the ancient residence of Song, Jun Gil are situated.
Dongchundang has 2-dimensional single story Paljak-style roof in the shape of character “一” with 3 rooms in the front and 2 rooms on the side, and has Mindori (pointed beam) house style with finished cornerstone placed on top of single story stylobate made by piling finished stone with wide frontal surface to support the Judori (cylindrical beam) directly without Judu (chapiter) by erecting Banju (rectangular beam).
Dongchundang Park is a masterpiece park created by turning the general regions of Dongchundang (approximately 56,000㎡) into a park at the time of development of Songchon residential estate. Having constructed forest environment in which visitors can exercise and take rest at the back of the Park and wide open square and pond in the area in front of Dongchundang, which are loved immensely by the residents of apartment in the vicinity. “Day of residents of municipality and Dongchundang Cultural Festival” is being held in autumn every year in order to proliferate interests and concerns of the residents on traditional cultures and harmony amongst the residents.
