LOHAS Happy Road was established along the Geum River in November 2009 with much wider waterside stroll deck, bicycle path and various parks, and is renowned as a stroll trail and bicycle path along the Geum River from Shintanjin to Daecheong Dam while feeling refreshing river wind. Visitors can observe the reflection of mountain on the water, trees and waterfowl, and enjoy diverse range of things along the riverside including San-Ho-Bit Park, Eco-Park, Deli Town, Children’s Park and Daecheong Park while walking along the Geum River with refreshing wind.
In particular, Daecheong Park has “Amseokwon” where 51 species of alpine plants that naturally thrive along the timberline and those that thrive in dry rocks or sandy grounds in the lower elevations, and “Dasomgil Labyrinth” composed of approximately 3,000 Oriental arbovitae with abundance of phytoncide aroma that is good for health, which are highly popular among children.
Moreover, scenic lighting has been installed, which is drawing a lot of visitors enjoying stroll during the evenings. It is ranked as one of the most sought after night scenes in Korea along with the night scene of Daecheong Dam. In addition, it was selected as one of the ‘20 Best and most attractive bicycle trail in the country’ by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, and, having been selected as one of the [Support project for Saturday School with the families and society] by the Ministry of Education, Science & Technology, diverse range of programs for experiencing of ecological culture sites by students with their families are being offered.
