The city buses in Daejeon are divided into 4 types in different colors each: red, blue and breen. Red buses (express) covers 2 routes (#1, #2) and they stop at major bus stops, ensuring a rapid transit service. Blue buses (regular) connect the downtown areas with the suburbs.
There are 2 types of green-colored buses: one is connects all districts within Daejeon, and the other connects Daejeon with its neighboring areas.
Bus fares vary depending on the age groups : children, middle and high school students, and adults. Traffic card is recommended as it offers discounts and free transfer.
Each bus has two doors: front door for entry and back door for exit. Place your transit card closer to the card reader upon entry and exit. Cash payment is also available.
Daejeon City has established an intelligent transportation system which placed a monitor at each bus stop for passengers to check the arrival time of the next bus.

The City Bus Free Transfer System being operated since July 4, 2005 allows bus passengers holding a traffic card to transfer to another bus or subway three times at no additional cost. Passengers are required to pay only a single fare for up to four segments of travel in a single direction. The traffic card allows three free transfers within 80 minutes of the first boarding or 30 minutes of exit when the passenger places the card on the card reader upon exit.
